Cuts to refugee health care puts children in grave danger

In June 2012, the Canadian government cut funding to refugee health care with the claim that it would protect our immigration system from abuse. However, these cuts have put children's lives at significant risk as they are turned away from emergency hospital care.

And as the Globe and Mail article notes, a full year’s care of refugees at one of Canada’s largest hospitals, Sick Kids, is equivalent to approximately half of a federal cabinet minister’s annual salary.
