Worst home that welfare funds contest

The Employment and Income Assistance Advocates Network in Winnipeg has launched a contest to show how people on welfare struggle to find safe and affordable housing. The EIA Advocates Network hopes that the results of this contest will help build awareness of the living conditions many individuals receiving EIA are forced to live in, and to foster a collective voice amongst those who experience these conditions on a daily basis and who often fear eviction for complaining of their housing conditions.

Three rooming houses are the winners of the "Worst Home that Welfare Funds" contest show exposed wires, leaks, fire safety violations, mold, and infestations.
