Memorials honour homeless who died

Last week, a memorial service in Edmonton honoured the forty-seven homeless people who had died over the last year. This was the fourth annual event to honour the lives and remember the deaths of people in Edmonton who died because they were homeless. In Toronto, the Toronto Disaster Relief Committee holds a homeless memorial on the second Tuesday of every month. On January 30, 2009 the Community Action on Homelessness will hold a Homeless Memorial Service to remember and honour the lives of people who have lived and died homeless and in poverty in Halifax.
