Advocacy Description: 

A non-profit organization working with/for First Nations people, but our doors & our programs are open to everyone. Services include legal advocacy for aboriginal people living off-reserve.

The Legal Advocate Program assists individuals and families who need poverty law support or who are having trouble accessing programs and services.

Services include:
•Assistance with the Ministry of Social Development regarding Persons With Disabilities and Income Assistance applications & appeals
•Assistance with Canada Pension Plan Disability applications and appeals
•Assistance with Worker's Compensation (WorkSafe BC) claims and appeals
•Assistance with Employment Standards issues and disputes
•Assistance with Residential Tenancy issues and disputes
•Assistance with Human Rights issues
•Assistance with small claims court matters
•Assistance with debt issues

We can provide referrals to appropriate services such as Duty Counsel, Legal Aid, or pro-bono lawyer services for criminal, civil, child protection, child custody, and family law issues.
